Fag Rag is Launching Our First Podcast
Exploring What Joy Looks Like for QTPOC on Fire Island + Hear a Preview + Early Sponsorship Opportunities
There's something beautiful that happens when you finally find the right tool for a job you've been trying to figure out how to do.
For as long as I've been involved in equity and social justice work on Fire Island through the Black and Brown Equity Coalition (BaBEC), through my writing, and in all the conversations and community-building efforts, I've continued to explore ways to amplify voices in a way that resonates. I've met incredible people with stories that deserve to be heard far beyond our immediate circles. People whose experiences of joy, healing, and belonging on Fire Island could change how others see what's possible in these spaces.
Amplifying voices in meaningful ways requires more than good intentions. It requires the right platform, the right approach, and the right resources to do it well.
I've finally gotten to a place where I can do this work the way it deserves to be done.
So Fag Rag is expanding into audio storytelling.
Our First Podcast
This September, Fag Rag will release the official trailer for our new podcast, highlighting what joy looks like for queer and trans people of color on Fire Island. The full season announcement will come shortly after.
This represents a natural evolution of Fag Rag's mission to celebrate and document LGBTQ+ culture in Fire Island, Provincetown, and New York City. Just as our print magazine amplifies voices through visual storytelling, this podcast creates space for conversations that our community needs to hear.
The podcast will center conversations with people about their experiences of celebration, healing, and belonging on Fire Island. It's about joy as much as it is about access and equity.
Here’s a demo of the pilot episode’s introduction. It’s not perfect! But it will be pretty close by the time it airs.
The podcast will be available on most major podcast platforms and sent weekly to all of our subscribers. Paid subscribers will get exclusive access to extended episodes and behind-the-scenes content.

This isn't just a podcast. It's an invitation to be part of something that centers voices and joy in a place that's not known for telling those stories. It's Fag Rag's commitment to expanding how we document and celebrate our community's experiences.
If that resonates with you, let's build it together.
